GE errors need a water-path check
GE, Profile, Cafe, and Adora dishwashers can stop on a fill complaint when the water supply, inlet screen, valve, or float is not behaving. We verify pressure and water movement before blaming a board.
On wash and leak calls, the circulation-pump seal and base-pan float deserve a close look. Standing water points us toward the filter, drain pump, and hose. A stuck dispenser is its own mechanical fault, not proof of a larger control failure.
The first visit includes the door safety chain, supply and fill level, drain route, wash pressure, visible leak points, and stored fault information where the model exposes it. We also check the sink or disposal connection because a restriction outside the machine can leave the same standing water as a weak drain pump. A dead display gets a power and wiring check before a control is considered.
Decide with a tested fault
The diagnostic costs $99 per visit and includes additional appliances checked during the same visit. It is credited toward an approved repair. Once the fault is confirmed, you receive the repair price before work starts.
Many GE models sold below about $1,000 new are still reasonable to inspect. A small repair can keep a sound machine working. When a major pump, tub, or control repair approaches replacement cost, we say so in the written estimate rather than treating the purchase price as an intake cutoff.
