KitchenAid dispenser panel that went dead in Alamo
The call An Alamo homeowner had a KitchenAid refrigerator where the door dispenser stopped responding. No water, no ice through the door, buttons dead, and the panel lights flickering.
What we found Pulled the dispenser panel and the control board behind it was corroded. Moisture had been working its way behind the panel and shorted the board, which is why the signals were erratic. The fridge itself was cooling fine. This was strictly the dispenser electronics.
The fix Cleaned up the contacts, replaced the dispenser control board with the correct KitchenAid part, and sealed the panel back up properly so water stays out of there. Recalibrated it and ran both ice and water to confirm.
How it turned out Buttons respond right away, lights are steady, water and ice both dispense. Clean one-visit repair. A board like this is worth doing on its own. You don’t replace a fridge that cools perfectly over a dead dispenser, and we told her so before starting.
