East Palo Alto is mostly dense rental housing and working-family homes, and Thermador is not the appliance I run into most here. The calls I do get come from a smaller number of updated single-family homes near the Palo Alto and Menlo Park lines, and from a few condo buildings with a kitchen that got upgraded past the builder-grade range. When I do find a Thermador range, it is usually an older Pro Harmony with the hidden bake element gone, cold on the bottom with no glow, which is a two-hour fix once I have the model number.

The other issue that shows up is a wall oven door hinge sagging on an older Pro Harmony installation, the same wear I see everywhere else once a decade or so of daily use catches up with the cartridge. ZIP 94303. Our Peninsula technician, based in San Mateo County, already runs Palo Alto and Menlo Park routes next door, so East Palo Alto adds on without a special trip.

Wall oven door hinge and gasket. Door sag and seal leak on the older Pro Harmony installs. Hinge cartridge swap, gasket replacement, about two hours.
