What breaks. What we fix.
Yes, we service Thermador, and here’s the honest read for an owner. Thermador spends its money in two places, the burners and the Freedom column refrigeration, and both fail in fairly predictable spots. None of it is exotic. The parts exist and the repairs are routine if you know the platform.
Star Burner ignition is the common cooktop and range call. You get spark but no flame on one burner, or every burner clicks when you light one. It’s almost always the spark module, an ignitor electrode, or the gas-valve micro-switch, and carbon at the electrode tip can fake a bad module. We clean, re-gap, and test before ordering anything.
Pro Grand and Pro Harmony ovens tend to lose their thermocouple or thermostat around the seven-year mark: heats but won’t hold, broiler cycles oddly, convection fan won’t shut off. Sapphire dishwashers throw an E15 base-pan code when the recirc pump seal weeps and trips the float. Freedom columns fail at the icemaker assembly and the defrost drain, and the first thing we check on a column that stopped making ice is whether the bin is seated, because the on-off switch rides on it.
Where a Freedom column loses refrigerant, that’s sealed-system work, not a part swap, and it’s the deep-end repair our sister site adrium goes into in detail. For most Thermador owners the call is simpler: an ignition or oven part on a good kitchen is a clear repair.

Thermador questions, answered.
-
My Star Burner clicks but won't light. What's wrong?
Almost always the spark module, the ignitor electrode, or carbon buildup at the electrode tip. We clean, re-gap, and bench-test the gas valve micro-switch before ordering a new module. -
Do you service Thermador Freedom columns?
Yes. The T18 and T24 ice-maker assembly is our most common Freedom call. We replace the whole assembly because the harvest motor wears at the same rate as the mold. -
What does the E15 code on a Sapphire dishwasher mean?
Base-pan leak. The recirc pump seal is weeping. We pull the unit, replace the pump and the base-pan check valve, and reset the code. Two-hour job. -
Are Thermador parts hard to get?
Most common parts ship within three business days from the BSH distribution network. Niche parts (Freedom column harnesses, Pro Grand steam-tank components) can take two weeks. We tell you the lead time before we order.
