Half Moon Bay is the anchor for the whole Coastside, and we run Montara, Moss Beach, and El Granada off the same route north on Highway 1. The kitchens along Main Street and up around the harbor keep their Wolf ranges a long time, but the salt air off the water is hard on hardware. Ignitors and hinge parts corrode faster out here than they do a few miles inland.
That changes what I look for on a service call. A Star Burner ignitor that would run another two years in Millbrae is often already pitted and weak by year six or seven on a Coastside kitchen a few blocks from the water, and the same goes for the M Series hinge cartridge. We check both earlier than we would on an inland call.

- Dual-fuel range Star Burner ignitor. Clicks without spark, and out here the salt air can bring this on a couple years earlier than inland. Ignitor and harness go out together once that starts.
- M Series wall oven hinge cartridge. Door sags and the gasket seal breaks. Hinge corrosion from the coastal air is something we check for on every Coastside call.
- Induction cooktop generator board. Element fault code, cooktop drops power mid use. Board tested before it is quoted, since moisture near the coast can mimic a board failure.
- Warming drawer element and thermostat. No heat, or the drawer runs away hot. Element and thermostat checked, connectors inspected for corrosion first.
