Dacor in Concord

Dacor in Concord kitchens.

Concord is the biggest city in Contra Costa County, and its kitchens span sixty years of building. Dana Estates and the streets around Concord Boulevard are classic 1950s ranchers, Turtle Creek and the Crossings brought 1970s and 80s tract homes, and newer infill keeps going up near the Willow Pass corridor. Dacor shows up here mostly in remodels: a slide-in dual-fuel range replacing a builder-grade unit, or a 30-inch wall oven pair in an updated kitchen.

Summer matters in Concord. When it is 100 degrees outside, a Dacor oven with a weak cooling fan starts shutting itself down mid-roast, and I get a wave of those calls every July. The oven is not broken in the usual sense, it is protecting its electronics, and the fix is usually the fan, not the board.

We run Concord from San Ramon up 680, book within seven days, and every job starts with the $75 diagnostic that credits toward the repair. Quotes are written, parts availability is checked while I am standing in your kitchen, and repairs carry 90 days on consumables and one year on major parts.

Water and ice systems

The water inlet valve, a common fridge leak.

Every fridge with a dispenser or ice maker has a water inlet valve. The fittings can leak under the cabinet, or the solenoid fails and the dispenser and ice maker stop getting water.

Common repairs we do

What we close on the truck.

  • Discovery iQ display fading or going blank. Dacor's Discovery iQ wall ovens used an Android-based touch display, and those screens dim, freeze, or go dark while the oven underneath still works fine. Owners assume the whole oven is dead. Usually it is the display assembly or its ribbon connection, and the relay side is healthy. I test the control stack separately so you are only paying for the piece that failed, and I check current pricing on the panel before quoting because it swings.
  • Broil element burned out on electric wall ovens. The broil element in Dacor electric wall ovens fails with a visible blister or a bright spot, and sometimes a bang that scares the whole house. After that, broiling is dead and preheat gets slow because the oven uses broil during preheat. In Concord's remodeled ranchers this is one of the most common calls I get. Element replacement is same-visit when the part is on the van, with a 90-day warranty.
  • Cooktop spark module firing weak or on the wrong burner. On Dacor gas cooktops like the SGM series, an aging spark module gives lazy yellow sparks, ignites one burner when you turn another, or quits entirely on half the deck. Grease migration into the module compartment speeds this up. I confirm with electrode tests first, because a $30 electrode failure can look identical to a module failure from above the deck.

FAQ

Dacor in Concord questions, answered.

  • How long is the drive from San Ramon to Concord?
Around 30 minutes straight up 680. Concord anchors our Diablo Valley route along with Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek, and Martinez, so I am in this corridor several times a week and can usually offer you two or three windows inside the seven-day booking promise.
  • My Dacor oven shuts off by itself on hot Concord afternoons. Why?
Almost always the cooling fan. Dacor ovens run a fan to protect the control electronics, and when it weakens the oven overheats internally and cuts power to save the boards, which happens fastest when the kitchen is already hot. Replacing the fan before a board cooks itself is the cheap version of this repair, so do not wait for fall.
  • Are there rebates for repairing or replacing cooking appliances right now?
Programs change often enough that I do not quote numbers from memory. If replacement comes up during the diagnostic, we confirm what is actually paying at estimate time and put it in writing. My job on the repair side is simpler: give you the true cost of fixing the Dacor so you can compare honestly.
