Washer humming loudly during agitation and spin. On Whirlpool's belt-drive top-loaders the tub bearing and drive pulley wear together, and the machine gets progressively louder over months. I open it up, confirm which stage of the drive is worn, and quote the repair against the machine's realistic remaining life. On the older direct-drive units it is often just a worn drive coupler, one of the cheapest fixes in the trade.
Ice maker producing nothing after a filter change. A surprising number of Saratoga ice maker calls start with a water filter that was installed slightly off-seat, which starves the Whirlpool ice maker of flow. I verify the filter seat, then test the inlet valve and the ice maker's fill cycle in order. It saves people from buying an ice maker they did not need.
Gas dryer heating on one load, cold the next. Intermittent heat on a Whirlpool gas dryer is almost always the gas valve coils. They open when cold and fail when hot, which is why the problem comes and goes.
