The complaint I hear most in East Palo Alto is a hood light that stopped working while the fan still runs, which is almost always a driver board or a loose connection at the harness, not the whole light assembly. The second most common is a fan that has gotten loud over a couple years of daily cooking, which on these smaller under-cabinet units usually means the motor bushings are worn, not the whole motor.
