Half Moon Bay is the anchor for the whole Coastside, and we cover Montara, Moss Beach, and El Granada right along with it, not as an afterthought. Maytag shows up in the older homes near Main Street and the newer tracts up off Highway 92, Bravos washers and Centennial dryers doing the daily laundry, top-freezer MRT and MFI fridges holding the overflow. The salt air off the harbor and the coast gets into everything out here, and appliances are not an exception.

Coastside calls run the usual Bravos and Centennial failures, lid switch, gearbox bearing, drum glides and belt, but the salt air adds its own layer. I see corroded terminal connections on washer inlet valves and dryer heating elements out here more than anywhere else on the Peninsula, and a range surface igniter can go early from the same exposure. Anything metal near a door seal or a vent opening ages faster this close to the water.

Every fridge with a dispenser or ice maker has a water inlet valve. The fittings can leak under the cabinet, or the solenoid fails and the dispenser and ice maker stop getting water.
