The neighborhoods sit back from Main Street and up from the harbor, mostly single-family homes with a Perfect Steam laundry pair or a French-door Electrolux fridge picked up in a kitchen remodel. The salt air changes what breaks first. Wire connectors behind the ice-maker fill valve and the terminals on control boards corrode faster out here than fifteen miles inland, and a corroded connector can look exactly like a failed board if you do not check it first. I clean and re-seat those connections before I recommend replacing anything electronic, since a good share of the coastal calls turn out to be corrosion, not a dead part. The mechanical failures, the door boot and the drain pump, run about the same as anywhere else on the Peninsula.

- Salt-air connector corrosion. Ice-maker fill valve wiring and control board terminals corrode faster near the coast. We clean and re-seat the connections first, since corrosion often mimics a failed board.
- EW28 ice-maker assembly. When the ice maker itself has actually failed, not just corroded, it is usually the mold splitting, the fill tube freezing shut, or the motor locking up. We put in the whole assembly from the kit we carry rather than guess at a single part.
- Perfect Steam door boot tear. Boot splits at the seal from normal wear, same failure pattern as inland units. OEM boot, 27-inch sizes carried on the truck, usually a common repair with a part we usually stock.
- Front-load drain pump service. The mechanical side of this repair does not care about salt air, a stray sock or coin jams the impeller the same way it would inland. We clear it out and replace the pump only if the bearing has failed.
