Millbrae is built around the BART and Caltrain station, and a lot of the newer housing near it is condos and townhomes with a stacked Electrolux washer-dryer in a closet by the entry. Further out, off Broadway and toward the hills, it is older single-family houses with the full-size Perfect Steam pair in a garage or a laundry room. Both housing types run the same Electrolux platform, just packaged differently for the space.
The stacked units near the station are the tighter job, so I check the closet dimensions and the door swing before the visit rather than find out on site that a standard dolly will not clear the hallway. The boot and the drain pump fail the same way whether the machine is stacked or side by side, coins and zippers tearing the boot, a stray sock jamming the pump. On the fridge side, the ice maker is the part most likely to go first on the French-door models in either housing type.

- Stacked washer-dryer service near the station. Near the station, the stacked units sit in a closet sized for the machine and little else. We bring the low-profile dolly and measure the door swing before we start, since a standard dolly does not clear some of these hallways.
- Perfect Steam door boot tear. Whether the unit is stacked by the station or side by side in an older house off Broadway, the boot wears the same way, split low on the seal from coins and zippers over the years.
- Front-load drain pump service. Whether the unit is stacked or side by side, the pump fails the same way, a coin or sock past the filter jams the impeller until it grinds. We clear it and replace only if the bearing is shot.
- EW28 ice-maker assembly. The French-door ice maker tends to go one of three ways: split mold, frozen fill tube, or a seized motor. We carry the full assembly kit on the truck, so it uses a part we usually stock swap either way.
