Redwood City is spread wide, and the Electrolux calls come out of three kinds of housing. Downtown near the courthouse and the old theatre block, it is condos and older flats with a compact stacked washer-dryer in a closet by the entry. Out at Redwood Shores, the townhomes along the lagoons run the same stacked setup, just newer construction. Up in Emerald Hills, the houses are older with at least one kitchen remodel behind them, and that is where we find the occasional Electrolux wall oven.

Stacked units mean a tighter job every time, so I check the closet and the water shutoff location before I start pulling anything, since some of the Redwood Shores units hide the shutoff behind the machine itself. On the Emerald Hills wall ovens, the touch panel is the part that fails first, not the heating element. Keys stop registering one at a time, sometimes just the bake button, while broil and the clock still work fine underneath.

Every fridge with a dispenser or ice maker has a water inlet valve. The fittings can leak under the cabinet, or the solenoid fails and the dispenser and ice maker stop getting water.

EW28 ice-maker assembly. On the French-door models, this part fails three ways: the mold splits, the fill tube ices shut, or the motor locks up. Rather than diagnose which one first, we pull the whole assembly and put in the kit we already carry.
IQ-Touch wall oven touch panel. The touch panel is the part that fails first on these Emerald Hills remodels, not the heating element. Keys stop registering one at a time while broil and the clock still work. We check the ribbon connector before ordering a new panel.
Front-load drain pump service. On the Redwood Shores stacks, we pull the drain pump the same way as any front-loader, clear the impeller of whatever slipped the filter, and replace the pump itself only when the bearing has actually worn through.
