A detached guest house or pool house laundry often runs off its own long circuit run from the main panel, and losing one leg of the 240V supply kills the heat while the drum keeps spinning, which mimics a dead element from the front of the machine. We test the receptacle first, then the element and both thermostats on the DR series, and say so plainly if the fault is upstream in the wiring rather than the machine.
Oil spotting under an older TC or Classic washer. A slow transmission seal weep leaves a small dark spot on the floor and can run for years before it gets worse. At the diagnostic I check oil level behavior and seal condition and give a straight answer on whether it is a watch item or a repair-now item, cost for each written down.
Slow cold fill on the washer. Long supply runs out to a detached laundry room carry sediment and debris that the inlet valve screens catch over time. Slow fill, weak rinse, or the wrong water temperature usually trace back to that valve. I replace it rather than clean it, since a restricted valve tends to fail closed or start dripping soon after.
