Worn door gaskets on older rental units. A lot of the Haier fridges I see here have been in the same rental for years, and the door gasket is the first thing to give out under that kind of time. Once the seal tears or goes soft, warm room air leaks in every time the compressor cycles, and you get condensation on the shelves and a layer of frost creeping across the back wall. I check the gasket with a dollar-bill test around the whole door, not just where it looks bad, and replace the full gasket rather than patching it.
Start relay and run capacitor failures on units that never stop. A fridge in a small kitchen with a full household around it runs closer to nonstop than a fridge in a bigger house with more counter space and less traffic. That extra duty wears out the start relay and run capacitor faster, and you hear the compressor hum and click off without actually starting. I test both parts together, since a bad capacitor can take out a new relay fast if you only replace one of them.
Frozen or clogged defrost drains. In tighter apartment kitchens with less airflow, the defrost drain on a Haier fridge ices over or clogs more often than in a well-ventilated house, and the meltwater backs up under the crisper drawers instead of running out to the pan. You end up with a puddle showing up every few days for no obvious reason. I thaw and clear the drain, add a heater clip on models built for one, and dry out the pan so it is actually fixed.
