A note on scale: San Jose neighborhoods differ more than most cities. Every fridge with a dispenser or ice maker has a water inlet valve. The fittings can leak under the cabinet, or the solenoid fails and the dispenser and ice maker stop getting water.

Inverter compressor and drive board failures. Newer Haier quad-doors in San Jose's condo stock run inverter compressors, and when the drive electronics fail the unit goes silently warm with a normal-looking display. I test drive output and compressor windings as separate questions, because the board is a moderate repair and the compressor is a big one, and guessing wrong in either direction wastes your money. Both parts route through the GE channel with normal lead times.
Defrost failures icing the evaporator. Across San Jose's older housing the classic Haier failure is the defrost chain: heater, bimetal, or the board's defrost control. Frost packs the evaporator until the fridge section can't hold 40 degrees on a summer day in Evergreen. I open the panel, test each component electrically, and replace the failed links plus the bimetal as cheap insurance while access is open. One visit if I have the parts, two at most.
Ice maker fill valve scale and failures. Santa Clara Valley water scales Haier inlet valves steadily. San Jose owners report hollow cubes, shrinking output, then nothing. I measure fill volume, inspect the screen, and replace the dual valve when cleaning won't hold. If the ice maker module's own motor or thermostat has failed instead, the module swaps as a unit, also GE-channel, also routine.
