DCS in Concord
DCS in Concord kitchens.
Concord is the biggest city in Contra Costa County, and its housing is mile after mile of 1960s and 70s single-story tracts, plus newer stock around the Veranda and downtown. DCS shows up here in two waves: RGS ranges from kitchen remodels, and a surprising number of built-in DCS grills, because Concord backyards are large and the Diablo Valley summer makes outdoor cooking a six month season.
That long hot season is hard on grills. I see warped drip trays, cooked wiring on rotisserie motors, and valves that get heavy use from May through October. Indoors, the RGS ranges in Concord kitchens fail the way they fail everywhere, spark modules and igniter switches first. We diagnose for $75, credit it to the repair, and put every price in writing before touching parts.
Concord also has a lot of rental houses, and we work with landlords and property managers directly. A written quote with a clear part and labor breakdown makes owner approval simple even when the owner lives out of state.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Rotisserie burner will not stay lit. The infrared rear burner on DCS built-ins relies on a clean ceramic face and a solid flame sense circuit. Concord's heavy summer use clogs the ceramic with grease vapor until the flame lifts off and the safety drops the gas. Cleaning helps sometimes, but a saturated ceramic panel needs replacement, and I tell you which case you have at diagnosis.
- Surface igniters clicking with the knobs off. Constant clicking on an RGS range points to a shorted igniter switch or moisture in the harness under the cooktop. A big pasta boil-over is the classic trigger. I isolate the failed switch electrically, because replacing the whole harness when one switch is bad wastes your money.
- Grill knobs hot and valves stiff. On older DCS grill heads the valve grease dries out from heat cycling and the brass valves drag or seize. Forcing them eventually snaps the stem. I service or replace the valves and check the manifold while I am in there, since a Concord grill that runs all summer usually has more than one valve going stiff at once.

FAQ
DCS in Concord questions, answered.
-
How far is Concord from your San Ramon base?
Straight up 680, about 25 minutes without traffic. We run Concord together with Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek, and Martinez, so a Diablo Valley route day usually has room for a Concord stop with same-week scheduling, 7 days a week. -
My DCS grill flames are yellow and sooty. Is that dangerous?
It is worth fixing promptly. Yellow flames mean incomplete combustion, usually from spider webs in the venturis, a failing regulator, or wrong orifices after a bad gas conversion. I check all three. It soots up your food and your grill, and on a natural gas line it can indicate a pressure problem worth knowing about. -
Do you handle DCS repairs for rental properties in Concord?
Yes, regularly. We can schedule directly with the tenant, send the written quote to the owner or property manager for approval, and invoice the owner. The $75 diagnostic credits to the repair the same as for any customer.
