Ignition faults on the indoor range and igniter wear on the outdoor grill module are the two we trace most, and the Emerald Hills grills get used enough on weekends that the igniters tend to go first out there. Common repairs we do

- Top-burner ignition fault. A burner that clicks and clicks with no light, or nothing at all. I check the spark electrode first, then the reignition module, the transformer, and the burner switch.
- Grill or griddle module igniter. On the Emerald Hills homes running an outdoor DCS grill, the GL or GD module igniter wears out from regular use before anything else on the unit. Igniter swap, and I test the thermal valve while it is open.
- Burner will not simmer or burns yellow. Cooking residue in the jets, or a burner cap that has slipped off its locating pins. Both show up as a rough, yellow flame instead of a clean blue one.
- Oven bake glow-bar igniter. Glow-bar glows but will not draw enough current to trip the safety valve open, so the oven stays cold. I replace the igniter, and check the dual thermal valve and convection motor if that turns out to be the actual cause.
