- Oven flame-failure device and thermocouple. Oven flares up then dies once you let go of the knob. FFD or thermocouple has worn out. We replace the failed part, not both, once we confirm which one it is.
- Selector switch, worn knobs, and burner caps. Daily heavy cooking wears through knob detents and burner caps faster than a lightly used range. Selector switch failure shows up the same way.
- Dual-fuel oven element, door hinge, and gasket. No bake heat, or a door that sags and lets heat and moisture past a worn gasket. On an older unit with no history, we check the whole range while we are already in there.
