- Burner clicks but the flame never catches. Usually a worn igniter switch or a failing spark module. I isolate which burner circuit is affected before opening anything up, so I am not replacing a part that still works.
- Oven drops out a few seconds after lighting. The thermocouple or flame-failure device is not holding the gas valve open. Replacing that sensing part is usually enough; the valve itself is rarely the actual problem.
- Oven runs hot, cold, or picks the wrong mode. The multi-function selector switch is a wear item on these ranges. Once it starts sticking between settings, temperature control gets unreliable, and the fix is a switch swap, not a control board.
- Door sags, or the seal leaks warm air. Hinge springs stretch under the weight of a cast iron oven door. I check hinge tension, gasket condition, and the bake element together, since a weak element sometimes gets blamed on a leaky door.
