South San Francisco has The Industrial City written on the hillside, and the biotech buildings east of 101 keep multiplying, but the Samsung calls come from the houses on the west side, Sunshine Gardens, Winston Manor, the streets climbing toward Sign Hill. We stepped back from the Samsung dishwasher line a while back, so the calls we take in South San Francisco are for fridges, washers, dryers, and ranges.

A good number of the remodeled kitchens on the west side have a Samsung French door fridge with the ice and water dispenser built into the door. Those freeze up at the dispenser chute more often than people expect, and it is usually the door gasket losing its seal rather than the icemaker itself failing. We also see a fair number of FlexWash and dual-flex stacked washers up here, and the failure that shows up first on those is a cracked drain-pump impeller from a sock or a bra wire working through the wash.

Ice and water dispenser freezing shut. Ice builds up around the chute in the door and eventually blocks it. We check the door gasket seal first, since a weak seal is the usual cause, before we look at the dispenser parts themselves.
Dual-flex or FlexWash drain-pump impeller. A sock, wire, or coin cracks the impeller and the washer stops draining mid-cycle. Once we confirm nothing else is jammed in the housing, it is a short pump swap.
Range oven igniter or bake element. Oven will not heat, or a burner clicks but will not light. We test the igniter and the bake element separately and replace whichever one failed, not both on a guess.
