- Hood insert control panel unresponsive after cooking. In condo kitchens the hood insert sits close to the cooktop, and steam and grease reach the touch panel faster than in a bigger kitchen. Corroded switch contacts or a wet board are the common causes. I clean and test the contacts first before replacing the board.
- Refrigerator freezer fine, fresh food section warm. A weak evaporator fan motor or a failing defrost thermostat both produce this pattern, and I test both rather than replacing the fan on a guess. Built-in refrigerator installs in the condo units make access tighter, so I plan the repair around that.
- Dishwasher standing water after a normal cycle. A stuck float switch or a clogged drain pump is the usual cause in the Foster City units, and grinder debris from shared building plumbing sometimes plays a role too. I check the float and clear any debris before condemning the pump.
