- Burners light weak or uneven across the cooktop. On older San Bruno gas lines, low or uneven supply pressure can mimic a bad regulator or a clogged orifice. I test pressure at the range first, then work through the orifices and the range's own gas valve regulator if the supply checks out fine.
- Bake igniter glows but oven runs cool. A fading igniter on a Z-Line gas oven still lights and still glows, it just does not draw enough current to hold the safety valve open all the way, so the oven undershoots the set temperature. Testing amp draw tells the story better than watching the glow.
- Dishwasher leaves standing water after the cycle. A tripped float switch or a clogged drain pump inlet is the usual cause. I check the float first since it is the cheaper fix, then move to the pump if the float tests fine.
