During a PG&E public safety shutoff, the gas burners on a dual-fuel Z-Line range are often the only cooking that still works in the house, so a burner that won't light gets fixed before the next shutoff, not after. The failure pattern still tracks the infrared broiler. Run it hot on and off through a season of entertaining and the ignitor and the upper thermocouple go together, so the broiler won't fire even though the oven still bakes.
Most of these properties run one premium kitchen and one Z-Line kitchen, so a single visit often covers a Z-Line broiler in the guest unit and a built-in range in the main house the same trip. Almost nothing out here is commercial, just houses on wooded acreage, so access is the usual driveway and gate arrangement rather than a business address. The hood over the Z-Line range is the other repeat call. Grease works into the touch-pad seam and the speed buttons go intermittent while the blower still runs fine. We clean and re-seal the pad first and carry the broiler kit, so we're not making a second trip for the range.

- Broiler ignitor and thermocouple replacement. Pro and Autograph ranges, 36 to 48 inch. The ignitor and the upper thermocouple fail together once the infrared broiler has been run hot repeatedly. We replace the pair and verify the micro-switch.
- Hood touch-pad and control board. The speed buttons go first once grease reaches the touch-pad seam. We clean and re-seal it, and only replace the board if the sensors test dead. The blower is almost never at fault.
- Dual-fuel cool-down fan fix. A mislocated thermistor on early units leaves the convection fan running after the oven shuts off. We fit the relocation bracket and file under Z-Line warranty where the unit still qualifies.
- Burner spark and re-light service. Spark module and igniter electrodes on the pro burners, usually after a deep clean floods the wells. We verify continuity before swapping parts.
