Martinez splits into two kinds of kitchens. Downtown near the marina and the courthouse it's older homes, some over a century old, where a Z-Line range went in during a remodel because it fits the vintage look and the modern budget at the same time. Up in the newer hillside subdivisions the appliances came with the house. We service both as a Z-Line authorized servicer.

- Dual fuel range trips the breaker. On RA series dual fuel ranges, a bake or broil element that shorts to its sheath will trip the breaker the moment it energizes. I test the elements for insulation breakdown and inspect the terminal blocks rather than resetting the breaker and hoping. A shorted element is a clean, definitive fix.
- Heat pouring out around the oven door. The door gasket hardens with age and the inner door glass assembly can loosen, and both leak heat into the kitchen. Long bakes get longer and the cabinet faces next to the range get hot. Gasket and glass retainer repairs are quick, and they pay for themselves in oven performance.
- Hood loses a fan speed. When medium works but high doesn't, or the hood only runs on one setting, the speed selector or the hood's control board has a dead channel. I test at the switch harness to pin down which one. On Z-Line hoods both parts are available and reasonably priced.

How long does it take you to reach Martinez from San Ramon?
About 35 minutes north on 680, past Walnut Creek and Pleasant Hill. Martinez is the top of our Diablo Valley loop, so we typically schedule it alongside Concord and Pleasant Hill calls. Most weeks that means service within a day or two, and we do work weekends. -
My house is old. Can the gas supply be the real problem?
Sometimes, yes. Undersized or partially blocked gas lines show up as weak flames on all burners at once, which no range part will fix. Part of my diagnostic on older Martinez homes is checking manifold pressure, so we treat the actual cause instead of replacing parts that weren't broken. -
