What a circulation pump, a control board, or a touch panel costs on one of these, set against what the dishwasher sold for new, turns the repair into a bad buy for you more often than not. Half Moon Bay anchors the whole Coastside for us, and we run Montara, Moss Beach, and El Granada on the same visit as Main Street and the harbor, one service area, not an add-on charge for the smaller towns. Highway 1 keeps every one of these homes close to open water, and the salt air changes what fails on an LG appliance out here compared to the inland Peninsula. It works into water inlet valves, rusts drain pump housings from the inside, and corrodes icemaker fill tubes faster than the LG service manual ever accounts for.
Underneath that coastal wear, the usual LG failure patterns still hold. A French-door from 2014 to 2019 carries the linear compressor, and the tell is the same everywhere: compressor still turning, box slowly losing its cool over a day or two. We match the serial against LG's program before quoting labor on those. Dual-inverter washers throw LE from a drifted rotor-position sensor and UE from a worn suspension rod far more often than from an actual unbalanced load. Out here, we also check the inlet valve and drain pump for salt corrosion on every laundry call, whether or not that's what you called about.

- Salt-air corrosion check on inlet valves and drain pumps. Standard add-on on every Coastside LG laundry visit. Salt air eats these parts faster than inland use, so we check them even when they're not the reported problem.
- Linear-compressor failure on 2014-2019 LG French-door. Compressor keeps running, box loses its cool over a day or two. Serial gets checked against LG's program before labor is quoted.
- Dual-inverter washer LE and UE faults. LE flags the rotor-position sensor. UE is usually a worn suspension rod, tested on a service cycle before we touch the motor.
- Icemaker fill tube and evap-fan motor. The common post-2020 LG cooling failure, and one the salt air can speed up on a fill tube near an exterior wall.

How fast can you get out to the coast?
Our technician lives on the Peninsula side of the county, so the Coastside is a manageable run over 92 rather than a special crossing from the East Bay. We're open seven days a week, and most weeks that lands a same-week appointment. Highway 1 and the pass on 92 can both slow a day down, so I'll give you an honest date rather than a same-day promise. -
Does the salt air really shorten the life of LG parts out here?
Yes, more than most people expect. Inlet valves, drain pump housings, and icemaker fill tubes corrode faster this close to the water than the same parts do inland. We check all three on a Coastside call even if that's not the complaint you led with.
