Milpitas runs newer than most of the East Bay, and the LG here reflects it. The 1990s-and-later tracts and townhomes around McCarthy Ranch, Sandalwood, and the Berryessa-adjacent blocks run a lot of LG and Samsung, and the LG fridges we open are mostly the post-2020 InstaView and LRMVS lines. Those units skew to evap-fan motor and icemaker failures, both quick, rather than the linear-compressor trouble on the older vintage. We still confirm with a diagnostic, but dead compressors are less common on this newer stock.
The laundry calls are dual-inverter front-loaders throwing the LE motor fault from a drifting rotor-position sensor, plus the occasional UE unbalance that's really a worn suspension rod. ThinQ smart units sometimes read dead in the app when the door Wi-Fi module drops, which we handle as an add-on. Up the hillside above Calaveras and in the newer condos the built-in layer adds Bosch and KitchenAid, but LG stays the core of the work.

- Evap-fan motor on InstaView and LRMVS fridges. Fresh-food side warming while the freezer holds. Fan motor swap, around 30 minutes.
- Icemaker assembly. No ice or partial fill on French-door and InstaView models. Replace and verify the full cycle.
- LE motor fault on dual-inverter washers. Rotor-position sensor drift stops the wash. We provide a written repair estimate after the on-site diagnosis and before any work starts.
- ThinQ Wi-Fi module. Unit reads offline or dead in the app but runs fine. Door module swap, done with another repair.

How long is the drive to Milpitas from San Ramon?
Milpitas is a 35 to 40 minute run down 680 for us. We schedule it with the Fremont and Santa Clara leg, so we're in the South Bay on routed days. Booked windows get a written arrival time before we leave the shop. -
My LG fridge here is only a few years old. Could it still have the compressor problem?
